What Is Kids Profile?
Kids Profile turns JellyWatch into a child-friendly TV experience. When it is active, the app shows only the content your child has access to, with big easy-to-navigate cards and a colourful interface. Everything else - Settings, Premium, the Admin screen - is hidden and locked behind a PIN that only you know.
Kids Profile requires Premium.
Setting It Up
- Open Settings from the sidebar.
- Go to Kids Profile.
- Turn it on and choose a 4-digit PIN - you will need this to exit Kids mode.
- Save. The app switches to Kids mode straight away.
That is it. Hand the remote to your child.
What Your Child Sees
- A simplified home screen with large poster cards.
- Their Continue Watching and Recently Added rows.
- Only the libraries the server admin has given them access to. Everything else is gone from view.
Exiting Kids Mode
Hold the Back button and enter your PIN. The app returns to the normal adult interface.
Controlling What Your Child Can Watch
Kids Profile shows whatever the child's Jellyfin account has access to. To limit it, go into your Jellyfin server settings and adjust that user's library permissions. JellyWatch will reflect those restrictions automatically.
Forgot Your PIN?
If you forget the PIN, uninstall and reinstall the app. You will need to set Kids Profile up again, but your child's watch history on the server is unaffected.
